What We Do

Nurse Administered Pregnancy & STI Testing

We offer laboratory quality urine pregnancy tests that are administered by a licensed healthcare professional. A positive pregnancy test (including those taken at home) suggests a high probability that women are pregnant. However, the result should be confirmed by an ultrasound exam. We also offer STI testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and treatment for both. When a patient comes for a pregnancy test, a licensed healthcare professional will assess if STI testing is needed.

Patient Advocacy

AVA Care has trained staff experienced in helping those facing an unintended pregnancy. As patients talk through their situation and concerns, advocates provide caring support and helpful education in making pregnancy decisions.

Pregnancy Confirmation through Obstetric Ultrasound

When a woman has had a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound exam can confirm and diagnose her pregnancy.

Medical Consultation

We have licensed health care professionals available to address women’s medical questions and concerns regarding pregnancy and sexual health.

Men’s Mentoring

Trained male client advocates are available to talk with men who are facing an unintended pregnancy with their partner.

EXCEL (Equipping Parents Program)

EXCEL stands for Equipping Parents to Excel through Community Engagement and Learning.

Oftentimes, women facing unintended pregnancies don’t feel equipped to be a mom. They don’t believe they can achieve their dreams. We believe they can do both. AVA Care has partnered up with many community organizations that provide resources and training that will equip women in their personal and professional development. As an additional benefit to her participation in one of these programs, AVA Care provides her with a layette with basic baby supplies and clothing, as well as diapers and wipes for the first year of the baby’s life. THREE (After-Abortion Care Program)

THREE stands for Help, Healing, and Hope after abortion.

THREE is an abortion recovery and support group designed for individuals who have experienced an abortion in their past. For more information, click here.
